What's New for the 2025 Ford Maverick?
A performance-focused Lobo trim joins the Maverick lineup for the 2025 model year. It comes with a 238-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine, all-wheel drive, and a seven-speed automatic transmission. It also offers West Odessa, TX and Canyon, TX buyers paddle shifters borrowed from the European Ford Focus ST. The rest of the Maverick lineup gets a styling refresh that includes a redesigned front bumper, darkened headlamp covers, and new wheel designs. The interior has been upgraded with new trim colors, including an available Smoke Truffle theme on the Lariat trim with bronze-colored accents.
Performance
The Maverick operates with a 238-horspower 2.0-liter four-cylinder that's connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission. A hybrid powertrain is an available option for Borger, TX and Pampa, TX drivers and it's comprised of a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that's supported by by an electric motor to give you a combined 191 horsepower. The Maverick comes with standard front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive is optional with either powertrain.
The Lobo sport truck is equipped with a turbo four-cylinder engine and standard all-wheel drive, and it exchanges the eight-speed transmission for a seven-speed automatic. Ford gives the Lobo model a lowered suspension, upgraded brakes, unique 19-inch rally-inspired wheels, and a special Lobo driving mode that encourages the rear end to drift when you're exiting a corner.
